The recovering and rediscovering of spaces is a must for the societies that seek to rise after years of continuous detriment, but what about symbols, colors and words? Without a doubt it is an issue that goes far beyond of our surroundings.
In the last 20 years, Venezuela went from being a country with great perspectives of development, to a spectacle of very bad taste, also dressed mostly by “redefined” words and the usurpation of symbols and colors to promote what it is an unhelpful trend from any point of view, instead of objectively addressing the existing reality: corruption, impunity, drug trafficking, violence and many other ills. This, added to a monumental optimism and pride expressed in phrases such as: “We have the best country in the world”, “The great homeland of Bolívar”, “The coolest country”,” God’s time is perfect “and a long etc; generates a very strange and bleak climate, because simply, if we have the best country in the world and God has a plan, is it necessary to do something to improve?. It is accurate, we have much in favor, but the “best” beaches, the tepuyes and the amazons are just potential, they are nothing without the infrastructure, the norms and the people that can turn them into something more than just the potential to create a real country.
All of the above, has led us to an unsustainable internal situation, economically, socially and morally, generating a mass exodus as a purge of many who “could not stand” anymore the crisis or those who leave with the hope of having a better future, as well as many others who defended and participated in the current government scheme, to whom the day came when “the situation” touched their circle. Whatever the cause, Venezuelans have dispersed around the world carrying what we are in our suitcases, our essence -good or bad-, which has made us a migratory phenomenon with local impact in many countries.

Recuperar y redescubrir los espacios es una tarea obligada para las sociedades que buscan levantarse luego de años en detrimento continuo, pero ¿Qué pasa con los símbolos, los colores y las palabras?, sin duda es un asunto que va mucho más allá de los espacios.
En los últimos 20 años, Venezuela pasó de ser una promesa de país con grandes perspectivas de desarrollo, a un espectáculo de muy mal gusto, ataviado además en su mayoría por palabras “redefinidas” y la usurpación de símbolos y colores para exaltar una tendencia poco beneficiosa desde cualquier punto de vista que se mire, en lugar de atender objetivamente la realidad existente: corrupción, impunidad, narcotráfico, violencia y otros tantos males que la aquejan. Esto, sumado a un monumental optimismo y orgullo expresado en frases como: “Tenemos el mejor país del mundo”, “La patria grande de Bolívar”, “El país más chevere”, “El tiempo de Dios es perfecto” y un largo etcétera; genera un clima por de más extraño y poco esperanzador, pues sencillamente, si tenemos el mejor país del mundo y Dios tiene un plan, ¿acaso es necesario hacer algo para mejorar?. Es cierto, tenemos mucho a favor, pero las “mejores” playas, los tepuyes y el amazonas, son solo potencial, no son nada sin la infraestructura, las normas y la gente que los pueda convertir en algo más allá de un potencial para crear un verdadero país.
Todo lo anterior, nos ha llevado a una situación interna insostenible, tanto en lo económico, lo social y lo moral, generando avalancha (un éxodo masivo a modo de purga) de muchos quienes “no aguantaron” más la situación o que que se van con la esperanza de tener un mejor futuro, así como de otros tantos que defendían y participaban del actual esquema de gobierno, a quienes les llegó el día en que “la situación” tocó su circulo. Sea cual sea la causa, los venezolanos nos dispersamos por el mundo cargando en nuestras maletas todo lo que son, llevando consigo su esencia -buena o mala-, lo cual nos ha convertido en un fenómeno migratorio con impacto local en muchos países.
